I was amazed at the installation of the roof truss structure of this stadium. Because the installation of the stadium roof truss is not done above the stadium as usual, but it is constructed under the stadium and then lifted up with a heavy lifting system. Right, not with a tower crane.
What is unique is that the weight of this roof frame reaches 3,900 tons, yes, 3,900 tons, I didn’t write it wrong.
The lifting is not done with a tower crane, but with a hydraulic jack. The roof is lifted using 16 hydraulic strand jacks and lifting frames installed at the pier head of the main column. There are 30 hydraulic strand cables for each hydraulic strand jack, and the capacity of each hydraulic strand jack reaches 450 tons. Meanwhile, each main column is installed with 2 hydraulic strand jacks.
If it’s a big roof and constructed at the top, many people have done it. But when it is assembled at the bottom and then lifted at the same time, this is the biggest and heaviest ever done, not only in Indonesia but also in the world.
At the time of lifting the roof frame, all elements of the contractor were present, even the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan was present to organize the historic moment.
Another interesting feature is the retractable roof, making the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) the first multi-purpose stadium with a retractable roof.
This makes JIS not only a facility for sports, but also facilitates the meeting of all elements in the capital city, around Jakarta, domestic and international.
